Software is not used and backing tracks are kept to a minimum. The solos are played raw to allow the listener to hear the notes and pharsing of the solos. Once the basic components of the solo (ie. pulls, bends, hammers, slides, runs,etc) are learned, a guitarist can play any style of music by adjusting speed, phrasing, and sound.
